Bel Power Solutions launches off-the-shelf inverter tech

Bel Power Solutions has announced details of a new DC-AC inverter system for use in marine and automotive applications.

The off-the-shelf solution is designed to power accessories on electric and hybrid vehicles including yachts, cruisers and ferries in commercial operations, and converts a high-voltage DC input source into split-phase AC power at 120/240V. The 700INV60120240-9G is designed to power auxiliary equipment such as air-conditioning or fluid pumps and operates with a typical efficiency of 93%.

Rated at 6kW, the inverter can be paralleled in a single-phase setup to give a total output of 36kW, or enables the combination of three units to create a three-phase system. The unit is housed in a sealed aluminum enclosure, allowing it to be mounted easily within the craft, and liquid cooling gives it an operating window of -40ºC to 85ºC ambient temperature at full load. It can also accept input voltages from 400V to 850V and controlled via a CANbus or an optional mating connector kit.
