EAS and Lean Maritime collaborate on green vision for Greek ferries

Greece’s car ferries are moving toward greener power thanks to a new collaboration between EAS, Lean Maritime and Greek shipping Company Theodoropoulos.

Dr Frank Diehl, Holger Segler and Georgios Theodorakis discussed the vision at the Maritime Economy Greece exhibition, held in Piraeus in September of this year, with the ā€˜Lean and Green’ think-tank now becoming an ongoing cooperation. EAS Batteries already provide a modular battery concept that has helped Theodoropolous to reduce fuel consumption and explore alternative fuels, with the Lean and Green concept aiming to reduce the cost and impact of the conversion process.

Lean Maritime will provide expertise on the construction and design of new projects that introduce new technologies such as hybrid power, with the aim of creating efficient production processes, high standards of quality and delivery on time to minimize disruption to schedules and services.
