Yanmar Power Solutions, a group company of Yanmar Holdings, has acquired land at the Phoenix industrial site in Amagasaki City, Hyogo Prefecture, to increase its production of marine and land-use engines in the future.
Yanmar Power Solutions plans to construct a new factory at the site, where activities such as test operation of marine hydrogen engines will be conducted. Through this initiative, the company aims to reorganize and strengthen its production system, including existing factories. The new factory is scheduled to begin operations around March 2029.
The Amagasaki Coastal factory will have a site area of around 34,000m2 and a floor area of approximately 8,000m2.
As the marine industry targets carbon neutrality by 2050, the company says it will continue to promote the development of powertrains compatible with next-generation fuels such as hydrogen, methanol and ammonia, using its expertise in engine development and manufacturing.
