Magonis and Flux Marine partner to release smart boat with 40kW motor

Electric boat provider Magonis Boats and electric outboard motor manufacturer Flux Marine have partnered to introduce a Magonis smart boat with a 40kW Flux Marine motor.

The motor includes a 55kW boost to get to planing speed in a few seconds and then reduce motor power to offer an average of 29NM range at cruising speeds. This powertrain will be available in North America.

Charging is convenient with a 6.6kW charger compatible with standard 125V/250V 50A AC outlets, enabling easy charging at home or at the marina. The Magonis Wave e-550 is equipped with custom user interfaces on a dedicated Garmin screen. The interface provides real-time system data (speed, charge), seamlessly integrated with standard navigation tools, which the company says will enable a safe, informed and enjoyable pure-electric boating experience.

“We are excited to partner with Flux Marine,” said Mathieu Quintart, chief operating officer of Magonis. “This collaboration is not just about creating a new electric boat; it’s about setting a new standard in the electric boating industry, with one of the fastest boats on the market.”

Daylin Frantin, COO of Flux Marine, added, “With our advanced electric propulsion technology, the Magonis Wave e-550 will offer an unparalleled boating experience. It is a significant step toward getting more electric boats on the water.”
