Under a partnership formed between FincoEnergies and the Port of Amsterdam, FincoEnergies has been issued with a permit to supply biomethanol by truck to maritime players operating within the Amsterdam port area.
Produced using a fully sustainable process, the use of the biomethanol in place of traditional fossil fuels can result in a certified CO2 reduction of approximately 92.4%. The biomethanol will be offered under FincoEnergies’ GoodFuels brand and makes FincoEnergies the first operational supplier of this in the Netherlands.
Over the past few months, a dedicated project team has been responsible for making the biomethanol fuel available for use on the water, with FincoEnergies adapting its supply chain to enable it to supply the product.
The supply permit was granted following a safety audit by the Port of Rotterdam and the Port of Amsterdam.
