Vision Marine Technologies has introduced a six-year limited powertrain warranty for its E-Motion 180E electric outboard propulsion system for recreational boats.

The company said the warranty applies to qualifying E-Motion 180E units sold under standard program terms. Based on publicly available information, Vision Marine believes it is the first manufacturer in North America to offer a standard six-year limited powertrain warranty for a high-voltage electric outboard system above 150hp.

According to the company, the coverage period extends one year beyond the typical warranty duration currently offered for comparable high-voltage electric outboard products in the recreational boating market.

The E-Motion 180E is a high-voltage electric marine propulsion system designed for recreational vessels. Vision Marine said the system has already been integrated into more than 24 boat configurations across 12 original equipment manufacturer (OEM) brands and several vessel categories.

The company’s product validation program has focused on durability, redundancy and thermal management, as well as real-world recreational use rather than limited pilot deployments.

Maxime Poudrier, chief operating officer of Vision Marine Technologies, said, “Warranty coverage reflects engineering discipline and operational readiness. Extending our standard limited powertrain coverage to six years demonstrates the validation behind our system and the infrastructure now in place to support it at scale.”

Vision Marine said its vertically integrated business model supports the extended warranty offering. Following the acquisition of Nautical Ventures, the company operates a retail and service network across Florida that provides installation support, diagnostics and aftersales services for electric propulsion systems.

The company said the combined retail and service infrastructure are intended to support the adoption of electric propulsion technologies while maintaining operational support for customers.
