Hagland Shipping has added a Damen Combi Freighter (CF) 3850 to its fleet under a time charter agreement with Germany-based Reederei Gerdes and its commercial arm, over-C. The parties were brought together by IntelliMar.

The agreement marks the start of a new partnership between the companies, described as built on shared collaboration and long-term alignment, with a joint ambition to develop shipping solutions using an aligned commercial approach.

The Damen CF 3850 features battery hybrid propulsion for periods of fully electric sailing, shore power connectivity to eliminate emissions while docked, capability to operate on B100 biodiesel, wind-assisted propulsion via Econowind VentoFoils, and an optimized hull design for improved fuel efficiency. The vessel has a deadweight of approximately 3,850 metric tons and a flexible cargo configuration suited to European short-sea bulk operations.

Reederei Gerdes is a German shipowner with a track record in the European coastal and short-sea sectors. Together with its commercial platform over-C, led by Nicole Gerdes and Dennis Clavier, the company combines technical ownership with commercial expertise.

Damen Shipyards Group, headquartered in the Netherlands, is a global shipbuilder known for its vessel designs and delivery processes.
