Mark Witjens has been appointed chief executive officer and Joep Gorgels chief financial officer and chief business development officer (CFO/CBDO) at EST-Floattech.
With plans to continue company growth and with the rollout of its new Octopus Series of products, Witjens and Gorgels will both work from the company’s headquarters in Badhoevedorp, Netherlands.
Having previously worked for the Damen Shipyards Group, Witjens brings with him 20 years of maritime industry experience, enabling him to provide EST-Floattech with valuable insights moving forward.
“EST-Floattech is one of the market leaders in the development and supply of energy storage systems for the maritime sector,” said Witjens. “The in-depth knowledge and vast experience of the company’s workforce is a key differentiator and supports and accelerates current ambitions in the shipping industry to reduce emissions.”
In his new position as CFO and CBDO, Gorgels will focus on EST-Floattech’s financial and business development operations.
“I am thrilled to join EST-Floattech and excited to accelerate the growth and development ambitions of the company,” commented Gorgels. “The maritime sector needs to invest in the electrification of ships for which EST-Floattech provides robust, certified solutions.”
Hans Visser, EST-Floattech’s current CEO, will hand over his role in the next few weeks.
