Electrification from a port’s perspective

Thomas MacLean, program director, energy and policy, Port of San Diego

MR: One of the things we try to do in the magazine is approach subjects from multiple angles, so the chance to hear about port electrification from the perspective of a major port operator is not to be missed. Thomas will run down some of the accomplishments by the team in San Diego, including an electric tugboat, harbor patrol boats and a ferry that is in the works. On land, the port has shore power for cruise and container ships and has auto-carriers upcoming.
