EXPO NEWS | DAY 1: Integrated propulsion system

ePropulsion is at Electric & Hybrid Marine Expo in Amsterdam to present its latest integrated propulsion systems, including the H-100 – an innovative 100kW inboard motor engineered for larger sailing boats and motor vessels measuring 18-30m. It has a full displacement of up to 200 tons and is designed to deliver high performance with less noise, fewer vibrations and zero exhaust fumes.

“We are thrilled to be showcasing our latest integrated propulsion system at this year’s Electric & Hybrid Marine Expo,” said Danny Tao, co-founder and CEO of ePropulsion.

“The H-Series [60-250kW power], created as modular systems, allows for easy extension of range and power requirements by simply adding motors, controllers and batteries. Recently, an H-Series 60kW inboard was successfully fitted to a Thames Marine Services workboat in London. The 10.3m vessel, Albert, boasts a large passenger cabin and open rear deck, and is regularly utilized for filming, diving and safety work. With an estimated reduction of 45.9 tons of CO2 emissions per year, compared with its previous diesel engine, we are proud to have created a sustainable and efficient solution for the marine industry.”Compact and lightweight – weighing 190kg and requiring 443 x 315mm of space – the H-100 is around two-thirds lighter and 50% smaller than its diesel equivalent, offering flexibility in installation and maximizing payload and passenger space. A flat cable design increases the slot fill rate by 25% and improves power density.

Equipped with pioneering permanent magnet motor technology, the H-100 can achieve 2,000Nm maximum torque and deliver an impressive 96% efficiency – which is higher than the traditional 100kW AC asynchronous engine, according to the company.
