EXPO NEWS | DAY 1: Proven rotor sail technology

Norsepower is at Electric & Hybrid Marine Expo to underline its credentials as a global leader in modern auxiliary wind propulsion for large ships. The Norsepower Rotor Sail has the longest performance history in the industry, gained through 16 installations with blue-chip shipping companies including MOL, IINO Lines, Socatra and Sea-Cargo.

Since 2014, Norsepower has built a proven track record in fuel consumption and emissions reductions. The data is verified by independent third parties such as ABB, NAPA and Lloyd’s Register. The typical annual savings are 5-25% – and even more in good conditions. The Norsepower Rotor Sail is harnessing the power of the wind to propel the industry’s green transition in a safe and efficient way.

“We’re thrilled to be part of Electric & Hybrid Marine Expo Europe,” said Marcus Sannholm, director of key accounts at Norsepower. “We look forward to meeting with industry experts to discuss how they can go above and beyond on decarbonization targets and cut expenses.

“With tightening regulatory and public pressure to minimize emissions, there is a need for reliable and proven technology. With our recent €28m [US$30.6m] in funding, we’re in a stronger position than ever to scale up production and deliver fleet-wide deals. We are expanding the reach of our product and its impact, with more emissions reduction and improved environmental performance. We’re bringing sails back to shipping – and the eight ships with 16 sails total are only the start of what can be achieved!”
