EPTechnologies is debuting its new Electric Turnable Saildrive at this year’s Electric & Hybrid Marine Expo. The unit features an electric servo motor and offers 25-60kW of power and 500-2,000rpm.
“Our innovative Electric Turnable Saildrive offers an entire electric propulsion system with a 360° rotation,” explained the company’s marketing representative, Anne Sorflakne.
It has a powerful electric motor, high-efficiency lithium batteries, and utilizes maximum energy during the sail and battery recharge using a turnable mechanism.
“It’s adaptable to working boats, sailboats, yachts, fishing boats, tugboats, catamarans, motorboats and houseboats, among other vessels. Using our saildrive technology, we can maintain speeds that vary between 16 and 20kts, and we can alter the system based on the boat’s type, weight, length and requirements. The key advantage of choosing our method is that no additional thruster is required behind the boat.”
