Advanced Maritime Technology International Awards 2026: Shortlist revealed!

With just over a month to go until Advanced Maritime Technology Expo and Conference gets underway in Amsterdam, the shortlisted nominations for this year’s Advanced Maritime Technology International Awards (formerly the Electric & Hybrid Marine Awards) have been revealed. Following the expansion of the categories in 2023, the awards retain a strong focus on environmentally conscious technologies and initiatives, as well as new advances in charging, industry contributions and shoreside technologies.

The awards are decided by the votes of a panel of expert journalists and consultants from the marine industry. The winners will be announced during the expo at the awards ceremony on June 16.

The shortlist in full:

ENVIRONMENTAL ACHIEVEMENT OF THE YEAR – PROPULSION SYSTEM DESIGN

  • HD Hyundai – Energy mix power system for large vessels
  • OceanWings – Installation aboard a bulk carrier
  • Solstad Shipping – 1.1MWh hybrid marine battery container
  • Transfluid – Hybrid passenger boats on the Provençal coast
  • Wärtsilä – Conversion of the Fehmarnbelt ferries to plug-in hybrid

ENVIRONMENTAL ACHIEVEMENT OF THE YEAR – VESSEL DESIGN

  • Coastal Sustainability Alliance – Eon electric harbor tug
  • Damen and Windcat – Elevation series CSOV
  • Regent Craft – Viceroy Seaglider
  • Ulstein Verft – Windea Carnot

ENVIRONMENTAL ACHIEVEMENT OF THE YEAR – INDUSTRY CONTRIBUTION

  • Corvus Energy – Blue Whale NxtGen
  • EPTechnologies – Svenner: solid-state marine battery with DNV type approval
  • ICO Terminals – First onshore power supply system in Belgium for ro-ro vessels
  • Methanol Reformer – autonomous e-methanol power generation aboard electric ferry
  • Rolls-Royce – First successful test of 100% methanol marine engine
  • Wattlab – First full-scale Solar Flatrack system on MV Vertom Tula

  • Stillstrom – Power Hub and Power Tower

PORTS  AND HARBOR INNOVATION OF THE YEAR

  • Elire Maritime – H2 Marine Power Hubs
  • Jebel Ali Port – Tenfold expansion of electric internal terminal vehicle fleet
